This Onitsha based Black Soldier Fly Breeder Has Trained Farmers & Sold BSF Larvae Since 2016…!
I have been searching online for, and conducting phone interviews with BSF breeders based in Nigeria for over 3 months.
Since publishing the first PDF transcript, I’ve spoken with another BSF breeder/supplier in addition to the 15 from various platforms. This gentleman is based in Anambra state’s Onitsha. And I’m excited to say he seems way more competent and authentic than all the others I’ve found. This brings the number – as at today, Saturday 31st October 2020 – to THREE that I consider reliable.
Strangely, when I contacted the Ilorin based breeder featured as Case Study 1 in the first PDF transcript, about visiting his farm, he said he would get back to me, but never did. I want to believe this was due to the unexpected turn of events caused by the #ENDSARS protests. I will call him next week

This gentleman comes across as most convincing compared to all the others because he offers way ore practical information about BSF breeding. Not only does he post) demonstration videos of himself handling the larvae on his farm, but he has explained to me how he started small by attracting the BSF in his farm environment and then deliberately populating the area over the past 4 years, to make breeding easier.
Today, he sells larvae on demand and provides both offline and online training. Not just that, he offers insights into new/future developments on the horizon with regard to other applications to which BSF is being put, which makes it imperative for Farmers to do their own breeding on site if they wish to enjoy ready availability at low costs.
