Like I’ve been screaming for years…PARENTS must take ownership of the process of educating their kids for success in life post-schooling.

They can do this by helping each child identify and nurture his/her natural talents/abilities/genius in a manner that is complemented by exposure to formal academic schooling.

50% academic : 50% vocational learning on a daily basis is best.

Telling the child to wait till s/he finishes schooling or till the holidays is wrong and often counterproductive.

Today, most school leavers will find few jobs and may end up having to explore self employment. So time is of the essence because vocational skills require lots of practice to master them.

This young man (click here to watch his BBC Interview) is already on his way at just 6 years of age. By the time he leaves secondary school, if he keeps this up, he will boast up to 10 years of solid hands on experience in this income earning vocation!

And THAT will boost his ability to win clients and earn income in or out of paid employment.

The earlier you let your child start, the better for him/her…and even for YOU!

By the way, in case you missed it, a CREDIT in Vocational Skills is now a compulsory requirement for completion of secondary schooling. The Bill was recently passed into law by the House of Reps.

So, parents need to sit up and connect with their kids. It’s no longer optional.
