In this video I review a Practical Export Seminar offered by a company supported by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council to MSMEs in Nigeria.
It’s titled: “HOW TO EXPORT TO THE USA, FIND BUYERS, SELL ON AMAZON, SELL TO AFRICAN STORES, AND EARN IN $$$”. A final run for 2022 comes up on December 2nd (Virtually & Physically in Lagos, Nigeria).
In this review, you will see highlights from Channels Television and Arise News TV broadcasts in which participants, as well as the company CEO and also the Executive Director of NEPC were interviewed.
The review ends with full playback of a video testimonial submitted by a CEO whose company’s products have been successfully selling on Amazon.com via the newly commissioned Amazon Export Warehouse.

======EXCERPTS======
“For so long Nigeria has drawn in the oil market for our foreign exchange and this is a big initiative to move us out to non-Oil. And we partnered with Export and Sell in the USA, to get our SMEs, MSMEs on the Amazon platform.You know, as the biggest economy in Africa, it is sad that we have not penetrated that kind of e-trading platform for a long time. So this is first of many steps to move our companies to sell directly online.
And looking at this warehouse – it’s just the begining – you can see the products that are already on Amazon, and some of them are already selling. So we need to scale it up – that’s why we’re partnering with Export and Sell, that “Look, let’s use you as a training platform to get our SMEs on there”.
And with that, you know the future is bright for many of our entrepreneurs in this country. The diaspora market is huge, the African American market is also huge! So there is no way, when we fully perform and get on there, Nigeria will outsell the rest of Africa.” – Segun Awolowo, Executive Director, Nigerian Export Promotional Council. (NEPC)
“Nigeria has a lot of potential, Amazon is a $400 billion a year e-commerce sales (platform). If Nigeria can only capture 1% of that, THAT is equivalent to almost $4 billion is sales annually. You know, so it’s an opportunity that exists that I am calling on ALL SMEs to tap into – because we have now made it easy, for you to have you products on Amazon.
The biggest challenge is the knowledge for Nigerian SMEs. So when we started we had people sending us products all the way to the US to put on the platform and most of them were sending products that werre not…or didn’t meet US specification and couldn’t be put on Amazon.
We’re offering training for associations of businesses. If you are part of an association and you can put together about 100 or more SMEs, we will come to train you.” – Nduka Udeh, CEO – Export and Sell
