That video interview is followed by a 3.5 minute clip excerpt from my (soon-to-be-published) 30 minute video titled “Why I Withdrew My Kids from School for 3 Years”.
The school in question was a supposed to be a “private” school. I would sadly go on to discover that others I researched had similar unhealthy practices entrenched in their operations as those that made me leave my kids’ school i.e. many Pre-Tertiary level Private schools – especially Primary and Secondary – are guilty of the bad practices I describe in this video.
In the full 30 minute video (coming soon), I actually narrate details of how my search for a viable alternative for my kids, eventually led me to discover the reinvented Quality Control Based Lagos State Public School System which also caters for Vocational Skills Education (which I’d engaged my kids).
It was just what I wanted i.e. a system that acknowledged the need to FACILITATE kids access to BOTH academic and vocational skills based education.

After discussions with the Head Teacher, who assured me of strict adherence to merit and standards, I enrolled my girls in 2018.
It is my considered opinion, based on what I’ve so far seen, that Lagos Public school (as far as value for money/time they demand goes) deliver SUPERIOR returns compared to most private schools – especially as per adherence to Merit, Standards, use of Innovation etc.
Having said that, room for improvement exists – for instance, like I note in my video nurturing of Talents, Skills and Creativity of learners NEEDS to be given a lot more focus.
It’s been good, but CAN be much better!
