This video (scroll down to watch it) begins with a short clip excerpt from a VLog by Ghanaian YouTuber Ekow Simpson challenging anyone coming from the Diaspora NOT to come “job hunting”, but instead to start a business of their own and possibly provide jobs to locals.
He also explains why he actively promotes EARLY Vocational and Technical education for kids in the school he runs, and how it’s helped many escape unemployment.
The points he makes, in my experience based opinion, are very valid. I’ve been screaming the same message for years through Best Practice Parenting articles on my blog at www.tayosolagbade.com/sdnuggets.
(At 02:22) I share the following quote:
“The illiterate of the 21st Century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those cannot learn, unlearn and relearn” – Alvin Toffler, American Writer, Businessman and Futurist.
And I also point out (at 03:25) the fact that a great mind and highly successful person like Elon Musk – Billionaire CEO of TESLA – openly asserts that he does not care if applicants to his companies did not even complete High (Secondary) School.
Forget PAPER DEGREES and CERTIFICATES. In today’s world and going into the future, PRACTICAL SKILLS are what will make a way to success for MOST PEOPLE, so EDUCATE kids right! Read the rest of this Elon Musk story HERE (click).

Screenshot of a Facebook post by a US based Black consciousness educator – Memnon Uzan (see above) – He uses a photo showing our traditional Black soap to explain that our West African ancestors taught the White man how to make soap…and how our soap making exports scared the European colonizers.
I note that these are historical facts we need to teach our young people to make them EMBRACE Vocational Skills Based Education. Most Africans have NO IDEA we taught White people to BATHE e.g during our 700 year rule of Spain – Google for details.
At 09:07 in this video I inserted a clip from Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s song titled: “Perambulator”
Fela sang “Oyinbo no teach us nothing…Na we open their eyes…dem meet us we dey do plenty things….”
I’ve inserted a clip from that song, with subtitles in which he accurately describes the multiple DIS-advantages of Western Education and salaries based employment system setup by the White Supremacists/Colonialists.
Listen to Fela sing the above lyrics in full, in the video below [Skip to 09:07 – click on the player]

In line with the theme of this video, I note that my 62 page White Paper titled “Schooling is a Means to an End & NOT an End in Itself” was written based on the same sentiments expressed by Ghana’s Mr. Simpson, USA’s Memnon Uzan and Nigeria’s Fela Anikulapo Kuti as I featured them.
My experiences in life, post-schooling CONVINCED ME that the kind of education I got was NOT what I NEEDED to give my kids – and that a “SYSTEM” which COMBINES Income Earning Vocational Skills Acquisition with Academic Learning prepares kids better for REAL success in life – with or without paid employment.
I urge EVERY parent to REFLECT CAREFULLY on the information provided in this video – you owe YOUR kids that much.

Final Words: BLACKMAN KNOW THYSELF!
THE WHITE MAN IS NOT YOUR SUPERIOR – BUT HE WANTS YOU TO THINK HE IS, SO HE CAN CONTINUE TO EXPLOIT YOU.
WE NEED TO TAKE BACK OUR RIGHTFUL PLACE IN THE WORLD. THE FIRST STEP IS TO RE-INVENT OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM INTO ONE THAT WORKS FOR US!!!
